Itinerary

Day 1: Gondar to Debark to Sankaber (3,200m)

• Morning drive from Gondar to Debark (2 hours), the gateway to the Semien Mountains.
• Meet your trekking guide, scout, and mule handlers, and collect your permits.
• Drive to Sankaber, the first campsite (approximately 1-hour drive).
• Enjoy a light hike around the area to acclimate and explore.
• Overnight camping at Sankaber.

Day 2: Sankaber to Geech (3,600m)

• Trek through highland meadows and enjoy panoramic views of the escarpment.
• Visit the Jinbar Waterfall, a dramatic drop into the valley below.
• Spot wildlife such as Gelada baboons and endemic bird species.
• Overnight camping at Geech.

Day 3: Geech to Imet Gogo and Chenek (4,000m)

• Hike to Imet Gogo, a viewpoint with unparalleled vistas of the jagged cliffs and valleys.
• Continue to Chenek, where you might encounter Walia ibex grazing on the cliffs.
• Overnight camping at Chenek.

Day 4: Chenek to Debark and Return to Gondar

• Enjoy a short morning hike before descending to meet your transport in Debark.
• Drive back to Gondar, marking the end of the trek.
